Eileen Kerns, 98, passed away on August 22, 2021. Eileen was born in Lima, Ohio on October 19, 1922, and resided in Cuyahoga Falls for over 60 years. She attended the Church in the Valley for many years, was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary 281, and in her spare time, enjoyed playing piano and singing in a group at local nursing homes.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Rosetta (Coate) Stapleton; husband, James E. Kerns; daughter, Kathryn (Antram) Blankenship); brother and sister in law, Tom and Louise Stapleton; sister and brother in law Nora and Phil Carano; sister in law and brother in law, Mildred and Glenn Clark; brother in law, Dale Caler; and nephews, Brian Carano and Lance Morrison.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Kerns, grandchildren, Mike and James Kerns, Mike and Darrell Antram, Brian Myers, and Brenda Hull; nephews, Bruce Carano and Jeff Stapleton; niece, Kim LaRosa ; and sister-in-law, Ruth Caler.
Eileen's selfless generosity led her to donate her body to Case Western Reserve School of Medicine to further the education of Case medical students. Upon completion of her time in the body donor program, cremation will take place and services will be planned. She will then be laid to rest at Northampton Cemetery with her husband, and daughter. Arrangements entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
