Eleanor Henderson

CUYAHOGA FALLS -Eleanor T. Henderson, 103, passed away at her residence March 7, 2007. Mrs. Henderson was born in Columbus and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls since 1945. She was a 1925 graduate of Ohio State University and being avid Buckeye fans, she and her husband planned their wedding the morning of October 24, 1925 so it did not conflict with the OSU football game. She had worked as a counselor at Ohio State University until she quit to become a homemaker in 1945. She was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ where she was an avid quilter with the Bethany Church Quilters and enjoyed all other needle work.

Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her husband, Ward D., parents, William and Leah Tress; sister, Jane Tress and son-in-law, Robert Rising and is survived by her daughters, Ruth Ann (Ronald) Hibbard of Cuyahoga Falls and Martha Rising of Trumbull, CT; grandchildren, Jim (Becky) Hibbard and Carole (Paul) Sanford; great-grandchildren, John and Evan Hibbard and Matthew and Rachel Sanford and nephew, Bill Welch.

The Family would like to express special thanks to all the wonderful care-givers including the staff of Visiting Angels, especially Brenda, Bobbie and Sandi. Also to care-givers Diane Fankhauser, Cindy, Loretta, Jan, Susan and Teresa, Hospice of VNS nurse, Gail Kubick and Dr. Carl Simmers. Also, special thanks to their Bethany Church family for all their support throughout the years and to wonderful neighbors, the Victor Bamonte Family.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, Rev. Stephen Gehlert officiating. Friends may call beginning at 10:00 am Monday. Interment Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
