Eleanor Garman Rowland was born March 21, 1914 in Akron, OH and died October 7, 2005. She graduated from the University of Akron in 1937, was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, a member of P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter P., charter member of Children's Home Auxiliary Board, life member of Women's Auxiliary Board of Summit County Children's Services, past member of Summit County Medical Alliance and of Stark and Tuscarawas Counties Red Cross Boards and Medical Auxiliaries, She returned to Akron in 1990 after living in Alliance and Dover, OH.
She was preceded in death by parents, Harley Vern and Eva Loomis Garman, brothers, Charles and Edwin Garman and husband, Dr. Elden M. Rowland and is survived by daughters, Sarah (and Frank Hodges) of Cary, NC and Mary (and Fred Weinstein) of North Canton, OH and sons, Guy (and Deborah Rowland) of Akron, OH and Edwin (and Pamela Rowland) of Athens, OH. She was Gramma Ellie to Monica Rowland Moyer and Alexander Rowland; Millicent Hodges Lester and Audrey Gula; Samuel Weinstein and Lori Kurt; Daniel Rowland, Eleanor Calgaro and Elden Rowland and great Gramma Ellie to six great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday in the Northampton United Methodist Church 832 Bath Road Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223, Rev. David Scavuzzo officiating. Friends may call for one hour prior to service time. A Private Family Committal Service will be conducted at the family's convenience in Fairmont Memorial Park in Alliance. Memorial donations may be made to Rockynol Life Care Fund or to Northampton United Methodist Church.
