CUYAHOGA FALLS - Eloise "Ellie" J. Hykes, 86, passed away January 17, 2016. She was born in Bucyrus, OH and resided in Cuyahoga Falls for the past 55 years. She graduated from East High School going on to retire from Burt Manufacturing. Eloise worked at the VFW Ralph Huff Post 1062. She held many positions as President and District 8 President of the VFW Ladies as well as many other positions. Eloise was a Member of the American Legion Charles Faust Post 281 and the Fraternal Order of Eagle # 2207.

Preceded in death by her husband, Sherwin, mother, Laura Harrod; she is survived by her son, David (Scarlett); daughters, Barb (Rich) Cain, Laurene (Walt) Malish, Karla (Becky) Hykes and Cindy; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her long-time companion, Dave Schoonover.

Friends may call from 5-8 PM Friday January 22, 2016 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH, 44221. A committal service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday January 23 at Northlawn Memorial Gardens 4441 State Rd. Peninsula, OH, 44264. A luncheon will follow the committal service at 12 PM at the American Legion Post 281, 1601 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH, 44221. In lieu of other remembrances memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
