Emelie Ann Zantow, born March 22nd 2016, passed peacefully in the arms of her loving parents on December 23rd 2016. Emmy received her angel wings following a lifelong illness where she faced her struggles with amazing strength and ability to fight against the odds.
Though Emmy's time here on earth was brief she left her hand prints on so many hearts. During her short time here she was able to create many wonderful memories with her loving family and multitude of friends. Her perseverance is a reminder that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories.
Emmy is survived by her parents Mandy and Matt Zantow, her loving siblings Abby, Dewayne and Izzy, grandparents Brent and Kate Murgatroyd, Mel Zantow, and Monica Amende, aunts, uncle and cousin.
Emmy's family would like to thank the many caregivers that touched her life and provided love and support that enhanced her quality of life and theirs as well. Especially the Akron Children's NICU, PICU and Palliative Care teams and the Hospice of Western Reserve.
There will be a gathering to celebrate Emmy's life Sunday, January 15, 2017 from 1-4 at the Falls River Square Pavilion, 2085 Front Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children's Hospital Palliative Care or Hospice of the Western Reserve.
We would also like to thank the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory for their guidance and assistance with arrangements. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
