Eugene Richert

CUYAHOGA FALLS - On August 30, 2016 Eugene Charles (Gino) Richert, 90 years of age, passed away peacefully at his place of residence, Brookdale Stow. A lifetime resident of Ohio, he was born in Akron Ohio on 07-26-1926.

Survived by his son, Jack Raymond Farr and daughter-in-law, Joni Lynn Farr of North Port Florida; also survived by 4 grandchildren (Ohio), and 4 great-grandchildren (Ohio). He was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Dorothy (Myers) Richert; his parents, Floyd and Grace (Vinegary) Richert; and 2 sisters, Norma and Barb.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he spent time in Japan. He often spoke of some fond memories made there. Gino was a member of the VFW, Post 1062 and the American Legion, Post 281 in Cuyahoga Falls Ohio. He was an avid snow skier. Enjoyed going to Boyne Mountain, MI. Gino was a pleasure to be around, such a pleasant man. His sense of humor would bring a smile to the faces of his family and friends, as well as his caregivers. He will be missed. Special thanks to Dr. Stacey Banerjee, and the staff at Brookdale Stow. Friends may call one hour prior to a 12:30 PM funeral service on Friday September 2, 2016 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH, 44221. The American Legion Post 281 will provide military honors. Interment Rose Hill Burial Park. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
