Evelyn Armstrong

HUDSON - Evelyn Armstrong, 99, of Laurel Lake in Hudson, formerly of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away November 7, 2015. She was born October 5, 1916 to Charles and Lida (Jenness) Flickinger. Evelyn was an executive secretary at Adamson United Company and retired from Vaughn Division of Wean United. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cuyahoga Falls and had been a thirty year member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was a charter member of Junior Progressive Study Club since it began in 1933. She was also a member of Chapter CS, PED Sisterhood, the Wesleyan Circle and several bridge groups.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Donald, her sister, Louise Kittell, her husbands, Raymond Schroeder in 1977 and Wendell Armstrong in 1998. She is survived by son, Philip (Diana) Armstrong and grandchildren, David (Stephanie), Laura (Walter) Hulsa and Lisa (Peter) Cino, and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves nieces Nola Weiss, Jane Scotti and Rachel Kowalsky.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 pm November 11 at The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday November 12 at the Laurel Lake Retirement Community, Serenity Chapel, 200 Laurel Lake Drive, Hudson, OH 44236, Chaplain Mary Tatman officiating. The final resting place will be Oakwood Cemetery.
