Evelyn Haberkost

STOW - Evelyn F. Haberkost, of Stow, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 18, 2010, after a short illness, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Akron, Ohio and had resided in Stow for the past 43 years and for the past 6 years was a resident of the Stow Glen Retirement community. Evelyn graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School and Kent State University and was a teacher for 30 years ending her career at Cuyahoga Falls High School, retiring in 1975.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents Carl C. and Iva L. Haberkost. She is survived by her loving sister, Ruth Estep, of Cuyahoga Falls and her loving brother Dean Haberkost and his wife, Joyce, of Westlake, Ohio. She was the cherished aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, baking cookies, reading, gardening, and making beautiful needlework projects for her loved ones. Her family would like to thank her neighbors on Mohican who were so kind to her and her special friend, Shirlee McMahon, who was always there for her. Most recently she especially adored and was loved by the young people from PTI who shared her hall and brightened her days.

As per her wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private cremation will be followed by a graveside service at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Clifford Funeral Home in Cuyahoga Falls.
