CUYAHOGA FALLS - Evelyn Nancy Wolf, 83, died peacefully on January 15 surrounded by her family after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's.
Evy was a life-long resident of Cuyahoga Falls and a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Evy graduated from Bowling Green State University, earned her teaching degree at Kent State University, and began her career as an elementary school teacher in Cuyahoga Falls in 1956. A fellow teacher set her up on a blind date with Russell Wolf-the love of her life-and they were married on August 9, 1958. They were the best parents ever to their two children and shared a beautiful and devoted life together until Russell died on October 7, 1989. Evy showered her children and grandchildren with the same love, devotion, and support. Throughout her life, she enjoyed many wonderful friendships.
Evy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Russell. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Mark Weitendorf of Hudson; son and daughter-in-law Craig and Alexandrina Wolf of Heath; grandchildren Joseph, Meghan, Emily, Hana, and Robert; and great-grandson Carter. She was the last surviving member of her and Russ' siblings and is survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Cathy Allman for years of neighborly friendship and support. The family is grateful to the entire staff at The Gables of Hudson as well as Kindred Hospice for their loving care and compassion. You are all angels to us.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, January 18, from 6 to 8 PM at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. A funeral service will be held on Friday January 19 at 11 AM at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 2121 6th Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221; Pastor Jim Steingass officiating. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery.
