CUYAHOGA FALLS - Frank Anthony Barber, Aug 19, 1936 - Nov 21, 2014. A gentle and quiet man who was generous of heart and spirit died on November 21, 2014 at the age of 78 due to complications of Parkinson's disease and congestive heart failure.
Frank was a dedicated and deeply caring teacher for 40 years in the Tallmadge School System. He was very active in church and choir work at both Pilgrim U.C.C. and First United Methodist Church in Cuyahoga Falls. He volunteered at Akron Children's Home, Open M., Akron General and Summa Western Reserve Hospitals, and spent two years as a VISTA volunteer in Syracuse, N.Y. and Lakin State Hospital, W.V.
One of Frank's greatest loves was constructing, with Lance, a yearly Halloween haunted house to celebrate Lance's birthday.
Frank was born to Pat and Edna (Maxwell) Barber. He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn (Hageman); son, Lance (Tricia) and granddaughter, Lily, of Columbus, Ohio; sister, Pat Cliney, of Maine; aunts, Jean Williams of Tallmadge and Marge Barber of Silver Lake; special cousins, Freda, Anthony and Kahlil De Cerbo of Champaign Illinois; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Mary Lee Hageman; sister-in-law, Linda Bernhart and members of the Calvin Rausch family with whom he lived during high school and many numerous nieces, nephews and cousins of the Maxwell, Barber, Hageman, Charara and Schrek families; and of course dearly loved canine buddies, Liberty and Ginger Barber.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 pm prior to a 4 pm funeral service on Sunday Nov. 30 2014 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH, 44221.
