TALLMADGE -Frank W. Paraska, only child of Luisa (nee Rich) Paraska and Balthazar "Joe" Paraska died peacefully on Sunday, October 26, 2008. Frank was born in Cleveland and resided there for most of his life, moving to Akron after he retired from the Cleveland Police Department in 1970. He served as a patrolman for over 20 years. Frank served with the United States Army during WWII, the United States Coast Guard, worked as a Cleveland bus driver and as a tool and die maker in his lifetime.
After retiring he devoted himself to fishing and camping with his friend Ben and to roller-skating. Frank belonged to several skate clubs and was a wonderful skate dancer; loving nothing more than gliding smoothly across the rink. He skated well into his 70's and was still active in the skating clubs in his 80's, if only socially.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Ron Paraska, his daughter, Nancy and his wife of 47 years, Anne.
He is survived by his daughter, Joanne and her husband, Gary Suley of Brunswick, Maine; his son, William Paraska and his wife, Susan of Marietta, Georgia and four grandchildren, Samantha Suley of Brunswick, Maine, Christopher Suley of San Jose, California, Margo Paraska of Ashville, North Carolina and David Paraska of Marietta, Georgia.
At his request, cremation has taken place.
