Frederick Ralph Booth

Frederick Ralph Booth, sweet and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, died on February 17, 2022.

He wore the very best smile, did so many things for others, and loved his family fiercely. Well known amongst those who knew him best was his ability to take any opportunity to dote on his family (particularly his daughters). Even though it occasionally embarrassed them when they were younger, they later came to realize just how special that was.

He lived in Cuyahoga Falls his entire life, other than 6 years spent in Hawaii in the Navy operating the radio control tower in Lualualei. He took great pride in his work, later working many years for the Parry Corporation (now Praxair) where he was well-respected and loved.

Every friend he had was a life long friend. He was loyal, honest, and good.

Fred loved old cars and tall case clocks. He loved to talk to people and he is probably chatting now with some famous clockmakers.

Not to be forgotten was his love of good food and the fact that he never ever turned down a bowl of ice cream or a chocolate chip cookie from one of his granddaughters.

Fred was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ralph and Thelma (Rupp) Booth, brother-in-law Thomas Shafer; nephew Thomas Shafer, and nieces Michele Lamb and Sarah Shaw.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jane (Ely) Booth, sister Patricia Shafer-Shaw (Tom), daughters Shannon Repp (Chris) and Lisa Fawcett (Jon), and grandchildren Elijah and Lily Fawcett and Reagan Repp.

He passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus while surrounded by family and pictures of those he would be seeing again soon.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 28 at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221 from 11am-1pm, followed immediately by a service.  He will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery.  In Fred's honor, please consider a memorial donation to the Salvation Army at https://give.salvationarmy.org/give/388165/#!/donation/checkout
