TALLMADGE - Gary Rossi, 93, Pearl Harbor Survivor, passed away peacefully April 10, 2015.
Mr. Rossi was born in Bedford, Ohio and served in the US Army during WWII. He was a 60 year member of IBEW Local 306 and retired as Superintendent of Community Electrical Contractors and Engineers. He volunteered for over 20 years at Firestone County Club Golf Tournaments and worked as a crossing guard for the City of Stow. He loved golf, flying airplanes and was especially proud of his family. He was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Assoc., a life member of American Legion Charles Faust Post 281 and the VFW. He was a Past President of the Carovillese Club.
His parents were Steve and Elizabeth Ross and he is preceded in death by wife, Barbara; he is survived by his daughters, Raphiella (Alan) Adamson, Colleen (the late Darren) Winterowd, Stephanie Bendel; grandchildren, Benjamin Winterowd and Shawna (Kevin) Burge.
A Memorial Service for Gary and Barbara will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 15 at the American Legion Charles Faust Post 281, 1601 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. Mayor Donald Robart officiating. Inurnment, Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to the American Legion Charles Faust Post 281. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
