Gayle Elene Miller, 70, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2023, after a short illness. She entered the gates of Heaven greeted by her parents, Loren and Dorothy (Evans) Miller, her sister Vicki Fleet, and great niece Mary Bernadette Fleet.
Gayle was born on July 3, 1953 and was the third of eight children. She leaves behind to mourn her passing her siblings Pam Drinkard, Joe Miller, Bill Miller, Ted Miller, Tim Miller, and Lorna (Chris) Henderson, her beloved Singapura kitty, Sweet Pea, as well as many extended family members and close friends.
Gayle has left a profound impact on all who knew and loved her. She took great pride and was the biggest fan of her 13 nieces and nephews Michael, Allyson, Chrissy, Maureen, Lauren, Margie, Tom, Brittany, Neil, Morgan, Cory, Maddie & Kara, and 27 great nieces and nephews.
Gayle attended St. Joseph’s Grade School (Class of 1967) in Cuyahoga Falls and was a graduate of St. Vincent High School (Class of 1971) in Akron. She earned an associate degree from The University of Akron in Secretarial Science. Gayle spent her entire career at Lehner Screw Machine Company as their Office Manager/Estimator/Buyer. She enjoyed watching college football (especially the Buckeyes and Clemson), playing cards – winning several titles at our annual family Euchre tournament, and creating needlework art pieces; but Gayle mostly treasured her time being around family.
Our family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Summa Hospice and RN Susan for their excellent care during Gayle’s illness. We also would like to send our enormous gratitude to the caregivers from Cornerstone who provided compassion, friendship, and care to Gayle during her last weeks and days. These incredible aids include: Stephanie, Daranesha, Arianna, Zeinab, Champagne, Shalandre, Janiya, and Jequeta. We also wish to thank her special friend and caregiver, Jayleen.
Gayle was a very kind and generous person, even to those who she did not know personally. All she wanted was for people to be kind to each other and to be happy. She was the kind of person who did not judge people or hold grudges and she lived that way her entire life. She would request in lieu of flowers, that you go and make an impact on someone's life – to a person you know or not. Because of her love of animals, we suggest making a donation to Paws & Prayers Pet Rescue in her honor, P.O. Box 67166, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, 44222-7166 (pawsandprayers.org).
We will say our final goodbyes to Gayle on Friday, August 4th at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Cuyahoga Falls. There will be a one-hour visitation from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at IHM, followed by a Catholic Mass at 10:00 AM, and Interment at Oakwood Cemetery immediately thereafter. At approximately 12:30PM , we will host friends and family at Galt Park Lodge in Cuyahoga Falls, for a celebration of life luncheon and fellowship. All are welcome.
Godspeed Gayle, fly high with the Angels. “… and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2Timothy 4:7
