Gene Charles Brown

AKRON- Gene Charles Brown, 76, passed away June 5, 2023. Gene was born November 29, 1946 in Barberton, OH to Robert and Gloria Brown. He was a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School going on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Johny’s Towing after 38 years of service. Gene was a member of Operators Union Local 18 for 51 years.

He enjoyed fishing, drag racing, gardening and loved being an independent man, who truly enjoyed his freedom.

Preceded in death by parents, Robert and Gloria Brown, brother, Gary Steven Brown; he is survived by his children, Julie Bohoff of Akron and Gene (Becky) Brown of New Franklin; 6 grandchildren and 2 greatgrandchildren; siblings, Gloria Lee (John) Kline of Cuyahoga Falls, Robert Joseph (Rahma Renee) Brown of Goose Creek, SC and Georgia Lynn (Don) Betleyoun of Canal Fulton and several nieces and nephews. Also, a special friend (neighbor) Don.

Memorial calling will be held from 4-7 PM on Monday June 12, 2023 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.
