George Mason

George Mason, wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away July 3, 2007. He would have been 94 on his birthday, August 22. George was a retiree of B. F. Goodrich. His accomplishments were not what he did but who he was.

Few people pass through this life with such honesty and integrity. His door was open to family and friends everyday of his life. He was a true best friend. He grew up with so little but gave so much. George loved playing bridge, fishing, company of people, good whisky, a lively political discussion, but most of all he loved watching sports events, regardless of the level of competition.

He will be greatly missed by all who loved him, his wife of 72 years, Naomi; his children, daughters, Georgia (Frank) Stams, Juanita (Steve) Englehart, son, Joe (Donna) Mason; his grandchildren, Kathryn Stams, Steve Stams, Frank (Mari) Stams, Artie Englehart, Keri Englehart and great-grandchildren, Chloe, Rhiannon, Mason and Mikol.

May he hear the music in Heaven.

There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls. Memorials may be made to Hospice of VNS, 3358 Ridgewood Road Akron, OH 44333-6118.
