Silver Lake-Gerald George Jensen, "Jerry" passed away on April 13, 2016. He was the First Born of George and Grace Jensen in Menomonie, Wisconsin on February 27, 1949. He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1968 and attended the University of Akron studying and working in Food Service Management. After working in that Field for many years he founded and operated Parkside Travel, first in Akron and then in Stow. He began traveling the world with family and friends in order to serve his customers with firsthand knowledge of the business.

He was a lifelong Member of the First United Methodist Church of Akron where he coordinated their Free Lunch Program feeding Akron's Homeless for over Fifteen Years. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Stow-Munroe Falls since 1993 where he worked on the Stow Fourth of July Parade marshalling the units and ran their Pancake Breakfast for Aviation Heritage Day for many years including 2015. He held several Kiwanis Offices including Club President. Jerry will always be remembered for his service to others.

He was preceded in death by his Father, George Albert and is survived by his mother Grace Ellen (Smith), Brothers Gary (Nancy), George (Susan) and Grant, partner Richard Seeger and Four Nephews and Two Nieces as well as Five Great Nephews and Three Great Nieces.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. May 14 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls where friends and family may call from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Akron,263 East Mill St., Akron, Ohio 44308-1735 or to Kiwanis Club of Stow-Munroe Falls, P.O.
