Geraldine Owens

CUYAHOGA FALLS – Geraldine “Gerri” Owens, 89, passed away December 17, 2018. She was born December 19, 1928 in Akron to Gerald and Birdie Thomas. Gerri graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Education, going on to retire from Broad Street Elementary (now Dewitt). She was an avid Bridge player and spent countless hours at the Cuyahoga Falls Women’s Club. Gerri was a devoted wife, mother and truly loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bill Thomas; niece, Nora Ann Thomas; and grandson, Bobby Thorsson; she is survived by her husband of 70 years, Bill; daughters, Lynn (Frank) Jakubec and Patti (Ralph) Dominguez; grandchildren, Julie (Chris) Hecht, Lisa Dominguez, Genine Pellegrino, William Thorsson, Amanda (Brock) Malinowski; great-grandchildren, Addison and Jacob Hecht, Brooklyn and Briella Malinowski; brother and sisters-in-law, Jim and Carole Owens, Barbara Thomas and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Danbury Tallmadge and ClearPath Hospice. They all took wonderful care of her and the family.

Cremation has taken place and the family will be having private services. In lieu of other remembrances memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
