Gertrude Garinger

Gertrude L. Garinger (Blower) nee Martin, 84, passed away at her residence February 24, 2006. Mrs. Garinger was born in Akron, where she had resided her entire life. She had been Rosie the Riveter and later had worked for Armour Star Meats.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L (Red) in 1998, brothers, Merrill, Clyde, Richard, Clarence, Frankie and Howard Martin and sisters, Faye Rutter and Mary Jane Martin and is survived by her daughters, Janet Holt of Gainesville, Fl, Carol (John) Lumbatis of Lewisville, OH and Barbara Short (and her fianc? Ned Oliver) of Akron; son, Richard L. (Jean) of Cuyahoga Falls; 11 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; sister, Johanna Yonally of Cuyahoga Falls and numerous nieces, nephews and many many special friends including Nancy Redd and Es McKee.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Monday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday, Rick Lumbatis officiating. Friends may also call at the Funeral Home for one hour prior to service time. Interment Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
