Grace Jordan

SILVER LAKE - It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Grace LaRue Jordan at home lovingly surrounded by family.

Grace was the only child of Gerald and Margaret Stotler, born April 24,1926. She was raised in Akron and graduated from the Class of 1944 at West High School. She worked in downtown Akron at the family restaurant (Humpty Dumpty) where she met her future husband and love of her life B. Howard Jordan. They were married 69 years and were together almost every day until his passing in February.

They are survived by 4 grown children, Kathleen Lavery (Robert), Jim Jordan (Rhoda), Sally Flynn, and John Jordan (Julie). Grace will be remembered as the loving Grandma to 7 grandchildren, Jana, Jay, Lindsay, Laura, Bridget, Jordan, Jett and 1 great grandchild, Lilou.

Grace loved playing cards with her friends, liked to shop, wear unique jewelry, and host family gatherings at her home during the holidays. She loved going out every Sunday for breakfast with her family. Some of her many hobbies were attending concerts, musicals, plays, and reading at the library. She loved live music, inspired by her father and uncles who played music on Akron's AM radio station WADC. Her family would like to thank the Munroe Falls DaVita Dialysis Center for their kindness and care. She loved her neighbors in Silver Lake and her dear friend, Shirley Petracca.

Her family is having a private funeral at Clifford Shoemaker Funeral home. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
