CUYAHOGA FALLS - Grace Blackwell Kaiser (nee Decker) age 98, died peacefully at Cumberland Crossings retirement home in Carlisle, Pennsylvania on January 14, 2015. She was born on March 31, 1916 in Woodsfield, Ohio to her parents, James Adam Decker and Nora Marie Stoehr.
Preceded in death by; her first husband Lawrence H. Blackwell to whom she was married for 41 years; and her second husband Fred L. Kaiser to whom she was married for 31 years; and by her son Lawrence Junior Blackwell who died in 1997; and by five sisters and five brothers; she is survived by her sisters Iris Kerschbaumer of Urichsville, Ohio and Leah Gold of Wooster, Ohio and by her daughter Virginia Irene Walker of Carlisle, Pennsylvania; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls, a Life Member of the Women of the Moose and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Many people got to know her while she worked for 35 years at various stores of the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company in Northeastern Ohio. Her ever present smile will be missed by her family and her many friends.
The family will receive guests from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 24 followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 pm in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH with Dr. David Baker officiating. Interment will be at Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Peninsula, Ohio.
