CUYAHOGA FALLS - Gus Piper, 92, passed away August 20, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. Gus was born in New Milford, OH and served in the Army in World War II and was stationed in both San Diego and the Philippines during his tour of duty. Gus was an accomplished artist and retired in that field from the former Bellows signs. He had a great love of fishing, westerns, art and the outdoors. He had numerous other talents and his legacy has profoundly affected his children, grandchildren, family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife Doris, to whom he was married for 71 years and his children, Gary Piper (Connie) of Pullman, WA, and Susan Phillips (Ed) of Winchester, CA. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Michelle Higley (Seattle, WA), Andrea Wentland (Olympia, WA), Matthew Phillips (Winchester, CA), and Daniel Phillips (San Diego, CA). Gus leaves 5 great-grandchildren, Austin, Seaonna, Ella, Gavin, and Ava.
