Harold Baker

TALLMADGE - Harold Baker, 93, passed away July 4, 2017. Harold was born in Oct. 7, 1923 in Cuyahoga Falls, OH to Henry and Zana Baker. On February 16, 1946, he married Wanda M Lind at the First United Methodist Church in Cuyahoga Falls. They were happily married for 71 years.

Harold graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1942. During WWII, he served as a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne. He was awarded 2 Bronze Stars during his time of service. Harold and Wanda owned and operated Baker's Acres Swim and Golf Club in Tallmadge. He was also a local builder and real-estate investor and developer.

He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda; 4 sons, Rand, Rick (Megan) Robert and Ronald; and he will be greatly missed by his 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, sister Amy Moneypenny (Chuck) and many nieces and nephews.

As per his request there will be no calling hours and the family will be having private services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church 245 Portage Trail Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
