Harvey Hanes

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Harvey A. Hanes, 86, passed away April 5, 2016. Mr. Hanes was born in Akron, OH and resided in Cuyahoga Falls most of his life.

He was born to Harvey and Katherine Hanes on October 19, 1929. Harvey served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Key Bank as the Assistant Vice President with 40 years of service. He was a Master Mason for 55 years, a 32 Degree Mason for 28 years, and a Knights Templar for 55 years. He was also an active member of the United Presbyterian Church of Cuyahoga Falls. Harvey was a loving tender husband, father, son, brother and friend to all who knew him. He had a quick wit and loved interaction with people, which served him well in his life and career.

Preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou; loving daughter, April Kay; parents Harvey and Katherine; and sister, Kay Godwin; he is survived by his wife Betty Hanes and family; sister, Donna (Paul) Swain; nieces, Tammy Kulesza and Debby McWilliams; nephew, Mike Kulesza; and many other loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 1 PM on Monday April 11,2016 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls, Oh, 44221. Final resting place Mount Peace Cemetery. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to the United Presbyterian Church 2819 Hudson Dr. Cuyahoga Falls, OH, 44221. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
