Henry Swanson

STOW-Henry L. Swanson, 56, passed into the loving arms of God on Sunday Jan 31, 2010 after a 4 month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Akron , Ohio on January 24, 1954 to James and the late Elizabeth Swanson. He was pre-deceased by his grandparents, Lawrence and Ruth Swanson. He will be forever missed by his loving wife, Paula (Brunson) Swanson and his precious daughter, Nicole M. Swanson both of Stow , Ohio . Also he leaves his sister Linda (James) Nixon and their daughter Jennifer, Brother Robert Swanson, Aunt Rose Sesler of Canal Fulton, OH, Sister-in-law, Beverly (Donald) Watson, Sister-in-law Connie Markulin of Indiana, niece, Brittany (Tim) Thomas and their sons Kolton and Kade of Akron, OH, and Nephew PF2 Bryan Brunson U.S. Army National Guard of Stow. Also a host of cousins, co-workers, friends and neighbors, who will miss his generous spirit.

Henry was actively employed at Bridgestone Firestone Americas for 35 years as a systems analyst. He was an Eagle Scout and boys baseball coach in his younger years. Henry received and Associate's in computer science and a bachelor's in accounting from the University of Akron . He was on the Firestone Golf League for many years and enjoyed his monthly poker game with friends. He was an 11 year member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church and volunteered in the nursery, usher team and counting teams. He loved God, his family, and his work. His only regret in life is that he did not get to attend his daughter's graduation from Kent State in May 2010. He is so proud of his daughter and will be smiling with her at graduation. The family would like to thank Dean Leupold and his staff at Crossroads Hospice for their gentle, loving care. They are truly a blessing to families. Also thanks to Dr. Andrew Haas Jr. and his infusion therapy nurses for their care, and all the nurses and doctors who did their best to help in his battle.

Viewing will be held at The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home at 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls , Oh 44221 on Tuesday Feb 2, 2010 from 5-8 PM A service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday Feb 3, 2010 at 11 AM.
