NORTH CANTON-Herbert Francis Villemain passed away peacefully on December 12, 2016 at the age of 84 following a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.
He was born on January 17, 1932 in Belleville, Illinois. Herb graduated from the University of Dayton with a degree in chemical engineering. While attending University of Dayton he was called upon to serve in the military during the Korean Conflict. After graduating, he relocated to Akron and chose his career with Goodyear Aerospace. During his distinguished career with Goodyear, he and his colleagues earned multiple patent awards for their design, development and testing including that of resealable military aircraft fuel bladders.
On April 27,1957, Herbert was married to Hellena Blane Wallis at St. Martha's Church in Akron. He was an extraordinary man who lived his life for Christ, his family, and his country. He is survived by Hellena and their four children, daughters, Kimberly Willett, Julia Villemain Teal (Russ), Janis Costigan (Jerry), and son Anthony Villemain (Christie); grandchildren, Sara Pinkerton (Dave), Jeremy Villemain, Joseph Costigan, Ryan Ruschak (Jessica), and Jennifer Costigan; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Ethan, Jaxson, and Maverick; brother, Milton Villemain and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by beloved grandson, John Joseph Ruschak (Johnny); parents, Lelia and Herbert Villemain and sister, Arlene Rodenmeyer.
