Cuyahoga Falls- Irene Raupach, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Western Reserve Hospital on July 31, 2022. She lived a long and full life. Irene was born and raised in Germany in 1933. Her childhood was filled with tragedy from World War II. She met and married James E. Raupach October 18, 1955 and moved to the U.S. in 1956. Not knowing the English language, she put herself through beautician’s school graduating with honors. She was the owner and operator of Irene’s House of Fashion. Irene devoted over 5 decades behind that chair not only doing hair, but being the most underpaid psychiatrist, helping all of her clients solve their worldly problems. She was a great mom, not only to her children, but to all of their friends she treated as her own. Being the selfless person she was, Irene never hesitated to give something of herself to help anyone she could. Irene was most proud of her grandchildren and treasured any time she could spend with them. If you went hungry around her, it was your fault! Although saddened by her loss, Heaven gained a great woman.
Preceded in death by her husband, James Edgar; daughter, Deborah Ann and son, Richard Carl; she is survived by her sons, David (Carrie) and Brian; grandchildren, Phillip (Ashley), Kyle, Katherine, Andrew, Hannah, Coltin and Nonna; greatgrandchild, Connor, extended family throughout Germany and France, along with many close friends she considered family.
The family will be having a gathering from 10-11 AM at St. Luke Lutheran Church 2121 6th St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, where a memorial service will be held at 11 AM the same day.
In lieu of other remembrances memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.
