Irene Thomas

Irene E. Thomas, 83, passed away March 23, 2006. Mrs. Thomas was born in Cumberland, MD and had resided most of her life in Cuyahoga Falls, graduating from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1940. She retired from Ohio Bell in 1983 with 25 years of continuous service where she had held numerous positions and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Akron Baptist Temple.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie Sager and is survived by her husband of 63 years;, Donald B.; daughters, Susan (William) Wilkinson of Columbus, Barbara Dale Thomas of Twinsburg and Deborah (Clark) Samodell of Brimfield; son, David J. Thomas of W. Palm Beach, FL; granddaughters, Michelle (Hubert) Fonte and Megan Wilkinson; grandsons, Eric and Luke Samodell; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, James (Donna) Ferguson of Anapolis, MD and sister-in-law, Jean Thomas of Cuyahoga Falls.

There will be no calling hours. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:30 pm Monday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society 1900 W. Market St. Akron, OH 44313-6927.
