CUYAHOGA FALLS - J. Clyde Schumacher, 84, a resident of Cuyahoga Falls died Thursday, March 18, 2010 after several months of illness. Clyde formerly lived in Warren and Garrettsville, OH. Clyde served in the U.S. Marine Corp. in the South Pacific during WWII. He retired as a machinist supervisor of Unimast/U.S. Gypsum Corp. in Warren, OH. He was a ham radio operator for 50 yrs. He was also an avid golfer, sports and fitness enthusiast and enjoyed playing his guitar, and was a member of First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls, OH.

Clyde was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys of 42 yrs in 1988 and his parents, Warren Ray and Verna Schumacher, his brothers, Paul, Robert, Fred and sisters Grace and Maxine (Phillips). He is survived by his two daughters, Linda (Homer) Lucas of Garrettsville and Janis Warren of Akron, a brother, Owen and sister-in-law Beryl of Charlotte, NC and several nieces and nephews out of state.

Friends may call 1 hour prior to a 1:00 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, March 24 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls OH, 44221, with Rev. Gail Lindsey officiating. Interment at Crown Hill Cemetery immediately following the service were a military service will be conducted by the American Legion Charles Faust Post 281. Friends/Neighbors will be welcomed at his home following services to help in celebrating his life. Arrangements handled by Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home.
