CUYAHOGA FALLS - James A. Curley Jr., 76, passed away February 4, 2015. He was born in St. Mary's, PA and resided in Cuyahoga Falls for the past 59 years. James served his country in the U.S. Army and worked in Consumer Relations for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., retiring after 44 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Charles Faust Post 281, where he served as 1st Vice and was a member of the Honor Guard. James was also past Commander of the 14th District State of Ohio in 2011, Chef De Gare and Carville Star of the 40 and 8. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with friends, family and loved his special pets.
He is survived by his wife, Carla of 53 years; children, Tammy Curley, Michael (Barb); grandchildren, Eric and Erin; sister, Mary (Max) Hughes. The family would like to give special thanks to his nurses, Justine and Vickie.
The Past Commanders of the 14th District of Ohio will perform a service in his honor at 1:30 PM on Saturday February 7, 2014 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls; OH, 44221, where friends may call from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM that same day. Services and interment will take place in Pennsylvania. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to the Falls Cancer Club 2253 3rd St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH, 44221.
