James Michael Fichtner Sr.

James Fichtner, age 74, was born on November 14, 1950, and passed away on April 24, 2025. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ralph and Mable Fichtner. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle, and his son, Jimmy Fichtner. James also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Rebekah, Savannah, and Nicolas Fichtner, as well as his siblings Rita Lambacher, Susie Wagner, and Ralph Fichtner, along with many cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Throughout his career, James made a significant impact as a painter of cars and later fulfilled his dream by establishing the Sand Bar at Portage Lakes in 1987, where he worked until his last days. Known as the life of the lakes, he brought joy and laughter to those around him. James was a passionate fan of the Browns and Indians, enjoyed playing golf, and loved spending time on or near the water.

James will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His spirit and warmth will forever remain in our hearts.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 4-6 pm, with a memorial service beginning at 6 pm, all at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.
