James "Jim" Allen Zimmerman

Cuyahoga Falls- James Alan Zimmerman. Born June 23^rd 1964 died July 10^th at age 58.

Jim was a 1982 graduate of Cuyahoga Fall High School, and a lifelong resident of Cuyahoga Falls.

“Jimbo” was a loyal dedicated employee of Acme Supermarkets for 39 years, affectionately referred to as “Jimbo” a nickname that stuck with him his many years there.

Jim grew up with a vast knowledge of the sky and stars. Knowledge passed on to him from his grandfather and father.

He loved insects, aquarium fish, lake critters, and enjoyed fishing too. But nothing in his life brought more joy, pride and happiness to his heart than his daughter, Emily. She was his heart, the apple of his eye. He will watch over her from the beyond, with love for the rest of her days. 

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Dennis E. Zimmerman; grandparents, Ina and Clifford Zimmerman and Mary Lou and Harry Atleson, and uncle, Dave Dick.

He is survived by his daughter, Emily Zimmerman; mother, Pamela Zimmerman, sister, Kelly Zimmerman-Frame (Mike); niece, Katelyn Zimmerman (Megan); former wife, Machelle Catanese (Mike) friend and coparent to Emily; former stepchildren, Lauren Meszlenyi (Chris) and Chris Balint (Ashley); aunt, Margie Boyle; aunt and uncle, Karen and Larry Moore; cousins, Matt and Joe Moore, Michael (Stacey) and Haiden Boyle; and far to many friends to list or count.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Friday July 15, 2022 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. A graveside service and inurnment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. Cremation will take place at a time following calling hours per Jim’s request.
