James E. Kleintop

James “Jimmy” E. Kleintop 77, passed away August 14, 2024. Jim was born in Akron to the late Alfred and Helen Kleintop and was a lifelong Cuyahoga Falls resident. Jim was a veteran serving 2 tours in Vietnam for the U.S.M.C. After his return to civilian life Jim worked for the City of Cuyahoga Falls Water department and after 32 years of service he retired. However, with his depth of knowledge and expertise in plumbing Jim continued helping family and friends and anyone he could, always ready to lend a helping hand

Jim loved golfing, Cleveland sports, hunting, fishing, and being with his family and friends. 

Jim was a lifelong member of the V.F.W. Ralph Huff Post 1062, American Legion, Eagles, Moose, I.A.C., and the Turner Club.

Preceded in death by his sister, Darla Kleintop and brother, Elden Kleintop, he is survived by sons, Scott (Sharon) Kleintop, Todd Kleintop, The Love of His Life for 36 years, Kim Paradis, his very close cousin, Raymond Kleintop, sisters, Cheryl (Dan) Snodgrass, Betty (Mike) Dougherty, Lynda (Bill) Welch, sister-in-law, Debbie Kleintop and many nieces and nephews, honorary niece, Hannah Silvis (Jensen) and their son Patrick (He always made Jim smile), Polly (Terry) Roeder, and Benjamin Paradis.

Jim and Kim’s dear Labradoodle Miss Liberty will miss her long conversations with her Poppy. Their cuddles, hamburger day, and sitting with him in his chair watching Cleveland sports on TV. Libby keeps checking his chair, but he hasn’t come back yet. Jim was the best Poppy. They had a bond like no other.

Jim will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, Ohio, where military honors will be provided at 2:45 PM on Friday September 20th, 2024.

 A celebration of Jim’s life will be held Saturday September 21st, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. VFW Ralph Huff Post 1062, 1581 Main Street Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

 In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to the VFW Ralph Huff Post 1062.
