James Koucky

CUYAHOGA FALLS - James(Jim) Edward Koucky, 89, passed away October 18, 2015.

Mr. Koucky was born in Cleveland, Ohio and served with the US Army Air Forces during WWII. He resided in Sagamore Hills until moving to Cuyahoga Falls in 1988. He began his career working in his father's business Broadway Window Shade. He retired from Allied Electric, and kept working into his late 70's at Flower Corner and Ciriello and Carr Funeral home. He was a frequent volunteer at the Cuyahoga Falls Oktoberfest. James was an avid reader, gardener and chess player. He took up running and participated in local 5km/10km runs and kept walking great distances through his later years.

Preceded in death by sister Ann Lehman and former wife Joan; He is the loving father of, Linda (Joakim) Cahlin of Sweden and Janet Leary of Chagrin Falls; father-in law of Michael Leary, dearest grandfather of, Christopher,Kevin, and Kristen Leary and Maximilian, Alexander and Oliver Cahlin; great-grandfather of Kali; brother of Mary Schoeffler of St. Louis, Jean Karr of Diamond Bar, CA and Norma Paul of Garfield Heights; and Richard Koucky of Solon and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, October 24 where friends may call from 10:00 am until the time of service in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, Dr. Richard A. Hasler officiating. Private Inurnment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to Arbors at Stow- Activity Fund- in memory of James, 2910 L'Ermitage Place, Stow, OH 44224.
