Cuyahoga Falls- James LaCroix, 70, passed away unexpectedly on August 26th, 2022. He graduated from Firestone High School and proudly served in the US Air Force as a helicopter mechanic. He was a longtime resident of Cuyahoga Falls, retiring from Coltene Whaledent in 2019 after 33 years of service.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James Joseph and Rita LaCroix. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Gail (Tussey) LaCroix, sons James (Rachel), Michael, and Steven (Shannon). He was proud of all his sons’ accomplishments and adored being Papa to his grandchildren-Miles, Sophie, and Jack. He also leaves behind his sisters Gail LaCroix, Marilyn (Bob) Keith, Pat (Mike) Harris, Denise (Mike) Mehwald, brother John LaCroix, and his mother-in-law, Virginia Tussey, along with his nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Jim always had a big hug, welcoming handshake, and was always there to lend a hand. He was not only a provider for his family, but an involved father who would never hesitate to drop his plans and spend his entire weekend on the side lines of a soccer game. Jim set a good example for his boys and never apologized for who he was. He was one of the most helpful people and was always there with a plan if you needed him.
Memorial calling will be held 1 hour prior to an 11 AM memorial service on Friday September 2, 2022 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. To view tribute video, send condolences or sign the guest book visit www.cliffordshoemaker.com.
