CUYAHOGA FALLS - James "Doyle" Murphy, 89, passed away peacefully at his residence with his family present on October 28, 2008.
Mr. Murphy was born in Akron and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls since 1961. He was a Veteran of WWII having served with the U. S. Army and was an Assistant Manager in Special Services with Ohio Bell retiring with over 40 years of service. He was a member of Star Lodge 187 F&AM, a 32nd Degree Mason, served on the Board of Directors of the TeleCommunity Credit Union. He was also a Life Member of Telephone Pioneers of America, Wagon Master of the Pioneer Camping Club, volunteered with Toys of Love and was a Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America.

Preceded in death by his wife Judith L. (nee Jones), parents James A. and Margaret P. (nee White) Murphy, brother, Ralph R. Murphy and sister, Elma Jane Murphy, he is survived by his daughter Margaret J. "Peggy" Murphy of Stow; son and daughter-in-law James H. and Debra Murphy of Suffield; grandchildren Jean (Steve) Giunto, Katie (Andy) Black, Josh Murphy, Matt Murphy and Scott (Diana) DeVault; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter and sister, Virginia L. Eustice of Kent.

The Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm Thursday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls where Star Lodge 187 F&AM will conduct Masonic rites at 6:30 pm and where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 9:00 am Friday, Rev. George Lee officiating. Interment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Senior Independence Hospice 1815 W. Market St. Suite 303 Akron, OH 44313 or American Cancer Society 525 North Broad Street Canfield, OH 44406.
