James Shaw

CUYAHOGA FALLS - James Robert Shaw, 76, passed away July 12, 2014. James was born in Akron and graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School. He was in business with his brothers and sons at Shaw Body/Shaw Auto Care. James was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. He enjoyed bicycling and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents Claude and Eleanor Shaw and brother and sister-in-law Lawrence and JoAnn Shaw, he is survived by his wife of 56 years Theresa Korkos Shaw; children, Carol Tatton of Cuyahoga Falls and her children, Steven, Mary and Elizabeth; Robert (Mary) Shaw of Cuyahoga Falls; Stephen (Chrissy) Shaw and their children Heather Woodard (Aaron), Hollie Sevigny (Christopher), Cassie and Chloe; Michael (Helen) Shaw of London, England and their son, James Arnold; Karen (Hank) Lamm of Green and their children Kalista and Emily. He is also survived by two great grandchildren, Taylor and Abbie; siblings Thomas (Pat) Shaw of Cuyahoga Falls and Marilyn Richardson of Tallmadge and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 17 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, where friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the MPN Research Foundation, 180 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 1870, Chicago, IL 60601 in his honor so that research for the myleoproliferative disorders can continue.
