CUYAHOGA FALLS - James L. Tyree, 84 passed away August 22, 2009.
Born December 28, 1924 he was a life resident of Summit County. He graduated from Stow High School and the University of Akron where he was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He fought in the battles of Normandy and Northern France with the 35th Infantry Division. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in action. He retired from Chrysler Corp, Twinsburg, Ohio after serving as a cost accountant. He conducted his own income tax business for 47 years. He was a life member of Ralph Huff VFW Post 1062, American Legion Charles Faust Post 281, F.O.E. Aerie 2207 all of Cuyahoga Falls and the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife, Betty J. "Liz" Tyree; daughters, Nancy (Charles) Zende of Greer, SC, Linda (Dennis) Hendricks of Greer, SC; son Thomas (Brenda) Tyree of Wooster, OH; six grandchildren and four great-grandsons.
There will be no calling hours or services. Cremation has taken place.
