Janet Miller

Fairlawn - Janet (Trevaskis) Miller, 78, passed away peacefully July 9, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Janet was born January 13, 1946, to the late Charles and Jean Trevaskis in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania. Janet graduated from Buchtel High School in 1964, and married her beloved George in 1967, sharing 51 years together until his passing in 2019. 

Janet attended Miami University, and was employed at Snodgrass Optician, among others. She gave many hours of service in the Akron area through her work with WITAN and as the head Deaconess at Fairlawn West United Church of Christ. Through her service with JWCC, Janet was visible throughout the Akron area with ticket sales for the Day at the Races with her dear friend, Izzie Horning.

Janet enjoyed playing golf at Rosemont Country Club, bowling in womens’ leagues, and downhill skiing. She most enjoyed spending time with her beloved nieces and nephews, Jill (Jim), Kate and Jay Strainic of Shaker Heights and Jeff (Katie), AJ and Alexandra Marano of Grosse Pointe. She is also survived by her sister and best friend, Nancy (Tony) Marano and brother, Charles Richard Trevaskis.

A memorial service will take place at 3 p.m. on July 14, 2024 at Fairlawn-West United Church of Christ at 2095 West Market St., Akron. The family will greet friends during the hour prior to the service.
