Jean (Meloy)

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Jean Senn, 98, passed away November 11, 2016. She was born in Cuyahoga Falls and graduated from Falls High and Hamill Actual Business College in Akron. She was a legal secretary at Johnson and Johnson while her husband taught engineering at Rutgers and Georgetown for the Army Specialized training program in WWII. She then became a great wife, mother and homemaker. She was a terrific golfer and was a charter member of Silver Lake Country Club. She was very involved with the garden club and loved to garden.

Jean had a most wonderful sense of style and was known for her quick wit. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a charter member of the Abington Hospital Auxiliary when she and Dick moved to Philadelphia. Jean was a devout Christian and a member of the Sojourners class at the Chapel.

Preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Richard; son, Rick; grandson, Richard; sisters, Arlyss Bales, Audrey Knoll, Wilma Platt and brothers Howard, Rich, and Bill Meloy. She is survived by her daughter, Joan of Kill Devil Hills, NC and granddaughter, Ann.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday November 20 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, Chaplain Charles Lentner officiating. A reception will follow at Concordia at Sumner. Final resting place, Stow Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Haven of Rest Ministries, 175 E.
