Jerald J. Guinn

CUYHAOGA FALLS - Jerald Jerry Guinn, 92, passed away April 14, 2018. He was born in Parkersburg WV in 1925 and moved to Northampton Twp and Cuyahoga Falls in 1930. He retired from Botzum Brothers Concrete Co. in 1985 as a salesman with 38 yrs service. He was a member of First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls and a veteran of the U.S Army serving in WWII. Jerry served for 35 years with the Cuyahoga Falls Police Reserve raising to the rank of Major and worked as Santa Claus at Chapel Hill Mall for 14 years. He had been a greeter for Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home for many years. His memberships include Cuyahoga Falls Historical Society, FOPA Lodge 31, American Legion Chas Faust Post 281, Akron Model T Ford Club since 1962 and had served as President.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Crowe Guinn; daughter, Sandra; brothers, John Bill, Edward, Eugene, Milton; sisters, Reva, Evelyn and Henrietta. He is survived by his wife, Bev; daughter, Candace (Dennis) Sidebotham; step-daughter, Melody Waicukewith; grandchildren, Stacey (Dennis) Mathieu, Joseph (Brooke) Sidebotham, Michael (Rebecca) Sidebotham and Denise (Mark) Himes; 11 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; sister, Donna Stockman; brother, Lyle and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 5-8 PM Tuesday, April 17 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls OH 44221 where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Rev. Debbie Saxe officiating. Interment Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
