Joan Chaboudy

Joan Marie (Hunt) Chaboudy, 86 of Palm Harbor, Florida and formally of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio died peacefully on November 24th after a long illness.

Joan was a loving mother of six children and was preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Dick) Chaboudy and sons, James and Gregory Chaboudy. Joan is survived by her son Rick, daughter Karen Showers, son Russell (Rusty) and his wife Kelly and son Tom; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Joan was dedicated to her family and her work. She was employed at Montgomery Ward in Cuyahoga Falls for 30 years and several more years in Florida. Joan worked full time and yet never missed her children's activities. While in Florida, Joan served as a volunteer at the Humane Society in Pinellas County and later with the Sun Coast Animal League in Palm Harbor.
Joan was the youngest daughter of Guy and Arva Hunt, who had 9 children. She graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School, Class of 1950, where she was a majorette and actively involved in many school activities.

The family will receive friends at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221 on Monday, December 10, 2018, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. with memorial services following.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cuyahoga Falls High School Athletic Department or the Sun Coast Animal League in Joan's memory. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
