Joan Ann Edwards

Joan (Joanie) Ann Edwards (Kenna) passed away October 15, 2022.

She was born in Akron, Ohio on December 7, 1932 and was a lifetime resident of the Akron area. 

She is predeceased by her husband Gary Edwards, her parents Henrietta and James Kenna; sisters Mildred Mungo, Mary Nagy and Susan Reese; brothers James Kenna, Richard (Mike) Kenna, Tom Kenna and Dennis Kenna. 

She is survived by her children: Karen Massa, Krissie (Massa) Counts, Toni Massa (Barry Pawson) and David Massa (Andy Dilbert); her grandchildren Jenifer, Alex, Brad & Jake; her great-grandchildren Brielle & Kensie; her brothers William Kenna (Delores), Robert Kenna (Jan); sister Rose Johnson, and many nieces and nephews. 

Joanie loved her family and friends. She loved hosting and cooking for them at countless gatherings and holidays over the years. She enjoyed going out to dinner and vacations with her friends as well. She worked at JC Penney for over 20 years and maintained friendships with many of her colleagues throughout her life. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 from 11 am - 12 pm, followed by a memorial service at 12 pm at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.  Interment at Oakwood Cemetery.
