John Caporlett

John Caporlett, 70, of Akron, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on September 22, 2022.  John was born in Akron on March 13, 1952, son of the late Jules and Matilda (Ley) Caporlett.  He was a 1971 graduate of Ellet High School and went on to become a skilled Electrician, spending 25 years working at Akron City Hospital, followed by 16 years at Ben Venue Laboratories.  John found great joy in spending time outdoors with hobbies that include hiking, snow shoeing, mountain biking and bicycling, riding dirt bikes, and most especially riding his BMW motorcycles.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sisters, Sandra Conley and Barbara Garner; brother, Lowell Garner; and father-in-law, Sumner Day.

John will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 33 years, Christine Caporlett; son, Matthew (Anna) Reedy; brothers, Ronald (Della) Caporlett and Gerald Caporlett; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Day; sisters-in-law, Linda Garner and Paula (John) Estill; brothers-in-law, Daniel Day and David (Marcella) Day; and very special lifelong friends, Ed Hackathorn and Dave Grimaldi.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 11am-1pm at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.  A memorial service will begin immediately following visitation at 1pm, also at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation in John's name to the Humane Society of Summit County, or to a charity of your choice.  In John’s memory, take a hike, enjoy nature, ride a bike and think of him.
