John Carlson

SILVER LAKE -J ohn "Jack" H. Carlson, 89, passed away September 2, 2010. Mr. Carlson was born in Akron and had resided in Silver Lake for 38 years, moving there from Akron. He had worked for Firestone International for 40 years and was a Veteran of WWII having served with the Army Air Corps.

Preceded in death by his wife, Louise Ward Carlson, to whom he had been married for 58 years, he is survived by his son, Tim Carlson of Port St. Lucie, FL; daughters, Linda (Tom) Reidy of Munroe Falls, Candace (Russ) Bolin of Largo, FL and Katherine Margida of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren Christine, Heather, Allison, Jay, Lisa, Daniel, Andrea, Vincent and Nicholas; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5-8 PM on Tuesday Sept. 7 with an 8 PM Funeral Service in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, Oh 44221. Rev. Paul Beal officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 10 AM Wednesday Sept. 8 at Oakwood Cemetery. The American Legion Post 281 will give military honors.
