John Carner

CUYAHOGA FALLS - John A. Carner "Little John", 79, died March 18, 2009. Mr. Carner was born in Cleveland and was a long time resident of Cuyahoga Falls. He retired from the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 219 and was a Veteran of the Korean War, having served with the U. S. Army and Marine Corps. He was an active member of American Legion Charles Faust Post 281 and VFW Ralph Huff Post 1062. Some remember "Little John" as the flag man of the Cuyahoga Falls Memorial Day Parades. He contributed much to Cuyahoga Falls and donated flags to anyone who needed them, displaying many flags in his yard.
He is survived by his wife, Jean "Jeannie"; children, Matthew, Tracy, Claudia, Mick, Jim and Chris and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside military service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Friday, March 27 in Oakwood Cemetery by VFW Ralph Huff Post 1062.
