John Edgecomb

John "JD" Edgecomb, 63, passed away September 23, 2021.

He was often called a "jack of all trades".  And as the saying goes, "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one".  There wasn't much John couldn't do, and do very well - with the minor exceptions of accurate spelling and coherent Facebook posting.

John was a talker, a riddler, and an outside the box thinker.  He was the life of the party, and quite possibly the inventor of the phrase, "Hold my beer".  He had the natural ability to make you want to pull out your hair and hug him at the exact same moment.

He was unconventional.  Sometimes misunderstood.  And yet always himself.

John radiated love.  Love for life, and love for his people.  He wore his heart on his sleeve, and he loved purely, deeply, and entirely with abandon.  Through joyous occasions and terrible heartbreak, his love was a constant.  It was impossible not to feel, and even more impossible to imagine the depth of his beautiful soul.  He was something truly special.  He will be missed.

John was preceded in death by his son Scott, parents Clarence and Gertrude, sister Karen, and brothers Chip, Paul, and Gordon.  He is survived by his sons Steven and Liam, and grandson Cameron.  Twin sister Janice (Bart), sisters Beverly (Art) and Lynn Patti.  Nieces Lauren, Jennifer, Kathi, Robin, Renee, Lindsay, and Markie.  Nephews Mark, Beau, John, Brian, and Chris.  And many more relatives and close friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 from 4-6PM with a memorial service immediately following at 6PM at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.  All friends and family are welcome.
