John Ellsworth

John Lawrence Ellsworth, 75, longtime resident of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away on January 15, 2022.  Larry was born on August 4, 1946, in Akron, Ohio, son of the now deceased Jack and Eileen (Cassell) Ellsworth.  He was a 1964 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and went on to attend college at The Ohio State University and the University of Akron before enlisting in the U.S. Coast Guard, in which he proudly served 6 years during the Vietnam Era. Larry coached high school football alongside the legendary Coach Clem Caraboolad in the 1980’s. Larry retired from a career as a Freelance Sportswriter.

He is survived by his children, Steven (Carolyn Erbaugh) Ellsworth, and Lisa (Kevin) Nunn; grandchildren Mayah, Jordan and India Nunn; and dear friends Michele D'Alessio and Linda Sabori.

At Larry's request, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on February 12, 2022, at Oakwood Cemetery, 2420 Oakwood Dr., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in his memory to the Disabled American Veterans (https://secure.dav.org), the Wounded Warrior Foundation (https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/), or any other wounded Veteran organization of choice.
