CUYAHOGA FALLS - John A. Hutchens II, 59, passed away April 8, 2015. He was born in Akron and resided in Cuyahoga Falls for the past 19 years. John graduated from Garfield High School in 1973, going on to retire from Chrysler after 24 years of service with four Journeyman's Cards. He was an accomplished musician and sound technician and ran his own Luthier Shop. John was one of the main architects for Summit County Songwriters Circle, a non-profit organization supporting local original music. He was also the catalyst in supporting novice writers and performers in Northeast Ohio open mics.
Preceded in death by parents, John and Alice, sister, Cathy Hutchens Pate; he is survived by his wife, Beverly of 24 years; brother, B. David Fuller; brother-in-law, Kenton Pate; nieces and nephews, Tammy Jo, Melissa, Elizabeth, Abby and John; great-nieces and nephews, Sarah, Colm, Sydney, Natalie; great-great nephew, Vyncynt; and countless brothers and sisters in his music family.
Friends may call from 2-4 PM and 6-9 PM on Friday April 10, 2015 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH, 44221, where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday April 11. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 525 North Broad St., Canfield, OH 44406.
