CUYAHOGA FALLS -John Frank Jones died suddenly on Monday, September 17, 2007. He was born February 24, 1922 in Carrington, North Dakota. John served in the Army Air Corps flying the "Hump" during World War II. He graduated from the University of North Dakota, where he met his wife Sally, and they were married after his graduation in 1947. John earned a master's degree in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin in 1950, and spent several years working in research and development in the polymer field. After having four of his seven children, he earned a law degree from the University of Akron School of Law in 1956. He worked as a patent attorney for BF Goodrich and SOHIO and later served as a free-lance patent consultant to several companies.
John was recently predeceased by his wife of sixty years, Sally Oppegard Jones, of Cuyahoga Falls. He is survived by his sister, Mary Jones of Oakland, California. He is also survived by his seven children; Janna Bellwin of Stamford, Connecticut, Jeramy Ridder of Eugene, Oregon, Michael Jones, Jillian Nester and Julie Jones, all of Cuyahoga Falls, Jeffrey Jones of Ann Arbor, Michigan and David Jones of Boston, Massachusetts. John is also survived by his twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many friends.
